The ozone layer is a layer in Earth's atmosphere which protects the DNA of all surface dwelling life, by absorbing UV-B from our Sun. The ozon layer contains relatively high concentrations of ozone (O3). This layer absorbs 97–99% of the Sun's high frequency ultraviolet light, which is potentially damaging to the life forms on Earth. It is mainly located in the lower portion of the stratosphere from approximately 20 to 30 kilometres (12 to 19 mi) above Earth, though the thickness varies seasonally and geographically. Ozone in the Earth's stratosphere is created by ultraviolet light striking oxygen molecules containing two oxygen atoms (O2), splitting them into individual oxygen atoms (atomic oxygen); the atomic oxygen then combines with unbroken O2 to create ozone, O3. ozone layer in the stratosphere, the region from about 10 to 50 kilometres (33,000 to 160,000 ft) above Earth's surface. So, about 90% of the ozone in our atmosphere is contained in the stratosphere. Ozone concentrations are greatest between about 20 and 40.

But now the ozone layer becomes depletion. It is happened because the reduction or loss of ozone in the atmosphere. The dangerous of the ozone layer to the world are :

First, The interfere to the photosynthetic process of plants. In plants, ozone layer depletion will result in disruption of the process of photosynthesis which in turn cause a decline in the rate of growth of leaves and stems and total dry weight so that the result will be reduced.

Second, The interfere to human life. Depletion of the ozone layer in the stratosphere has increased the risk of skin cancer and an increase in temperature due to climate change could increase concentrations of surface ozone which is one of the main air pollutants that can cause respiratory diseases. climate change affects health through the transmission of microbial contamination and dynamic in which health effects can occur from the process include the effect of increased temperature on the morbidity and mortality, extreme weather disasters, increased air pollution, water and food borne diseases, and vector-borne diseases and rodents. UV-radiation causes many materials to degrade more rapidly. Plastic materials used outdoors will have much shorter lifetimes with small increases of UV radiation. PVC sidings, window and door frames, pipes, gutters, etc. used in buildings degrade faster.

Third, The decreasing amount of  small organism. The existence of ozone depletion about 16% can lead to a reduction of 5% of phytoplankton which is equivalent to losing about 7 million tons of fish every year.UV-B rays have been known to cause damage during the early development of fish, shrimp, amphibians and other animals. UV-B radiation is a limiting factor, and small increases in UV-B radiation can cause the reduction of populations of organisms consumers.

There some oppinion from some people about depetion of ozon layer

"Depletion ozone layer, and ultraviolet reaching the earth increases, thus causing a negative impact on the health, eye cataracts, skin cancer, as well as lowering the immune system that will increase the risk of other diseases and not only endanger human lives, but also animals, plants and buildings, "Bahrul said.

“The ozone hole is expected because a lot of the behavior of human life are unwittingly causing ozone destruction.” Said Head of Athmospheric Science

“Depletion of the ozone layer in the stratosphere has increased the risk of skin cancer and an increase in temperature due to climate change could increase concentrations of surface ozone whick is one of the main air polution that can cause respiratory disease.” Said Director General of Control Penyak.

"Pravalensi blindness in Indonesia is about 1.5 percent more than half are also due to cataracts," says Professor Nila F. Moeloek, head of the Eye Department of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia in a discussion entitled "Ozone and the Impact on Health
